The Capitan MIPS is Black Diamond’s heavy-duty helmet that offers extra protection on the sides and rear as well as MIPS technology, while maintaining a low-volume profile and optimum comfort levels for long days. Its plus: MIPS technology (Multidirectional Impact Protection System). MIPS is designed to protect against rotational (or kinematic) movements transmitted to the brain when the skull is subjected to oblique impacts. This enhanced protection system has proven its effectiveness in reducing rotational force and the risk of brain damage by absorbing and redirecting oblique impacts on the helmet. Featuring a bi-block ABS shell, EPP foam and EPS foam cap, the Capitan helmet meets UIAA requirements for side and rear protection. Ventilation holes provide breathability when temperatures rise.
