They cover the small step between the chainring and the crank arms, completing the look of the crank. These Ultegracrank covers enhance the look of your crank with AbsoluteBlack or Rotor oval chainrings. There are two different versions. One is suitable for Ultegra 6800 and the other for Dura-Ace 9000. The screw covers are supplied with the mounting bolts (no additional bolts required). When tightening the supplied bolts to the recommended torque, it is necessary to prevent the bolt covers from rotating by holding them down with your fingers. If the covers are not held while tightening the bolts, they may be damaged.HOW TO FIT ABSOLUTEBLACK SCREWS COVERS : Completely remove your current bolts and nuts. Place the bolt covers in their specific positions from the front, so that they are aligned with the crank. Then use the short bolts supplied with the T30 torx sockets and screw them in from the rear. You should use a force of about 5-7 Nm. You MUST use medium strength threadlocker on the bolt threads. (e.g. Loctite 243).
